Shortage of skilled workers: How German companies compensate for bottlenecks with experts from Eastern Europe

More and more customers of the Kloepfel Group, which specializes in supply chains, are relying on skilled workers from Eastern Europe due to the shortage of specialists in the areas of production, construction, sales, accounting and purchasing. With them, company processes can be relocated temporarily or long-term to Eastern European countries. In this press release, we explain examples and let customers have their say.

    Flexibility in purchasing

With Kloepfel Services, companies can flexibly ramp up and down their purchasing, sales and accounting capacities with Eastern European experts as needed from one day to the next. The specialists have many years of international experience, including in operational and strategic purchasing, are fluent in German and English, and are well-versed in the use of various ERP systems and commodity groups.

Patrick Esselborn, Business Unit Leader Kloepfel Services, explains: “Especially in these turbulent times, it’s hard to plan your manpower for the long term. It is often difficult to predict whether new employees will still be needed in a few months. Many HR managers and CEOs therefore must take a long-term view and are correspondingly hesitant about new hires. It is precisely in this situation that our temporary colleagues are available to them.”

Barbara Kuriczak, Managing Director of Grundig Business Systems, says: “With us, it wasn’t just a vacancy that was bridged. A big advantage over conventional providers of interim purchasing managers was that we could use the complete Kloepfel organization.

Florian Vogel, Managing Director Project Management Professionals Switzerland, states: “I am positively surprised by the professionalism, the level of training and the strength of communication. Our project employee from Kloepfel Services was the best external employee we have ever had.”

Alexander Hornikel, Country Manager Kloepfel Consulting Germany, adds, “Low labor costs for excellent work results and personnel that can be scaled at any time are always worthwhile. In addition, Eastern European countries offer EU legal security. In addition, the linguistic and cultural competence of Kloepfel Services’ Eastern European colleagues enables smooth cooperation with our customers’ regional German suppliers.”

    Top-class interim engineering services

Those desperately in need of engineers can call on the high-caliber interim engineering services of GFE Solutions, a Ukrainian company that is a friend of the Kloepfel Group.

GFE Solutions’ predominantly Polish and Ukrainian mechanical, electrical and production engineers have multiple diplomas, years of expertise and specialist knowledge. The range of services includes product design, strength calculations as well as PLC programming for plant control systems and CNC programming for CNC production machines. In addition, the Eastern European colleagues develop technological solutions on a temporary basis and modernize the existing production technologies of their customers, from planning to testing. The engineers work both remotely and on-site, depending on the customer’s needs. All of them speak fluent English and some also German as well as other languages.

Dr. Thomas Bauer, Managing Director of DIENES Apparatebau GmbH, says: “We had received an order in the field of medical technology, which we were able to realize thanks to the Ukrainian specialists from GFE Solutions. The two engineers quickly learned the ropes and were trained operationally in the specifics of medical technology. Our customer was very satisfied with the support, flexibility and diligence of GFE Solutions.”
