    BMW Group sales increase

Car company could sell more cars in 2019

The BMW group has sold 2.52 million BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce cars in 2019. This represents an increase of 1.2 percent compared to 2018, when the number was at 2.49 million cars.

Across all brands, BMW Sales Director Pieter Nota continues to see the Group as the world’s leading manufacturer of premium brands. But since 2016, BMW’s core brand has lagged behind Mercedes-Benz in terms of worldwide sales. However, Nota did not provide figures for the BMW brand alone this time.

Success in the top luxury segment with Rolls-Royce

Last year Rolls-Royce was able to achieve a sales record of 5152 cars in its more than one hundred years of brand history. The already very successful year 2018 saw a 25 percent increase in sales. A mainstay of this success is the new SUV “Cullinan”, which is available above 315.000 Euros. Profit figures were not published. But the luxury brand seems to be worthwhile for the BMW group. Rolls-Royce boss Torsten Müller-Ötvös announced: “I can only say that we are very profitable”.

The engines for the British brand are supplied by a BMW plant near Munich. No date has been set for the already announced electrification of Rolls-Royce cars.
