Andreas Miltzner, Manager Executive Search, on his role as a maker in the team
At the Kloepfel Group, we are the place for doers. THE MAKER’S PLACE stands for pragmatic procurement consulting and results-driven solutions – developed by makers, for makers.
Andreas Miltzner, Manager Executive Search at Kloepfel Consulting, specializes in targeted placements in one of the most demanding fields: procurement, logistics, and supply chain management. With a clear focus on efficiency and precision, he ensures that companies don’t just receive applications – but personalities who are truly capable of filling complex roles. In this interview, he talks about his “I’ll make it happen” story, the responsibility in executive search, and why sustainable recruiting is more than just an algorithmic selection process.
The Art of Getting Things Done – or: The Power of The Maker’s Place
1. What’s your personal “I’ll make it happen” story?
We place leadership positions in procurement, logistics, and supply chain management with precision and efficiency. Thanks to our clear specialization and many years of experience, we understand our clients’ specific requirements in detail – and engage with qualified candidates as equals.
Our recruitment service is built on a comprehensive and continuously growing network of professionals in procurement, logistics, and supply chain management. We’ve been nurturing this network since 2007, allowing us to present even highly specialized candidates within four to six weeks. Our direct outreach achieves a remarkable response rate of around 50%. We also offer clients a free, no-obligation pre-search to assess the feasibility of a placement. If the employment relationship ends within the first six months, we guarantee to continue the search and ensure a suitable replacement.
Challenges – Relevant Megatrends
2. The economy is facing major challenges. Why is now the right time to work with you?
Due to the current weakness of the German economy, highly sought-after professionals are either becoming available or more open to change. That makes this the perfect time to strategically fill key roles – such as in supply chain management or strategic procurement.
3. Which global megatrends most influence your field – for example: digitalization, skilled labor shortage, geopolitical crises, sustainability?
In executive search, the dominating megatrend is the shortage of skilled professionals. In this environment, it’s crucial to continuously refine our recruiting and outreach strategies in order to effectively persuade the right talent of the benefits of switching roles.
My Career as a Maker
4. Can you share a project that shows how Kloepfel solves client problems?
A real added value that Kloepfel offers in HR Solutions is our holistic one-stop-shop approach. Instead of providing isolated services, we integrate executive search, interim management, and outsourcing into a coherent overall concept. This allows us to deliver tailored solutions – whether for permanent placement of key roles, short-term staffing gaps, or outsourcing entire functions. Our clients benefit from fast response times, clear structures, and exclusive access to a proven network of highly qualified specialists and executives. This not only saves time and resources but, above all, delivers sustainable results.
5. What advice would you give to someone starting a career in consulting?
In executive search, I would strongly recommend that newcomers thoroughly engage with the client companies. If possible, gain on-site insights – because that’s the only way to truly understand not just the processes, but also the social dynamics and the company culture.
6. What does a typical workday look like for you?
My daily work is heavily communication-driven – whether with clients, candidates, or internal stakeholders. In such a dynamic environment, misunderstandings are inevitable. That’s why I place great importance on continuously developing clear, precise, and solution-oriented communication. My goal is to convey information quickly and clearly to build trust on both sides and make processes efficient.
The Person Behind the Maker
7. What was your most recent personal highlight at Kloepfel?
For me, it’s a genuine highlight to work every day in an environment characterized by mutual respect, collegiality, and professionalism. The team atmosphere is friendly, straightforward, and solution-oriented – which not only builds trust but also makes collaboration truly enjoyable.
8. What do you value most about your team?
What I appreciate most is that my team seeks direct exchange and, like me, prefers working in the office. This physical proximity enables us to collaborate without friction and make quick, well-informed decisions. I firmly believe that our close collaboration is a key success factor for the quality of our results.
9. What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Perhaps the most valuable advice was to stay open to feedback – no matter how experienced you are. That’s why it’s important to me to be approachable and to actively take in input from the team or external sources. This mindset helps me continuously develop and make my work even more impactful.
10. What are three things (or apps) you can’t live without?
- My job bike: A folding bike that gets me everywhere and fits in both the trunk and on the train.
- Spotify and Bluetooth speaker: Music helps me concentrate when researching candidates.
- Having lunch at home: Thanks to the short distance between my home and the office, I can enjoy lunch at home, which helps me switch off and tackle the afternoon with fresh energy.
